What to look for when choosing a home

When viewing Homes:
Firstly and most importantly you should be able to visit and view a home at a time that suits you. At Peterborough Care we promote an open door policy which means that our staff will be more than happy to show you a home at any reasonable time which means you do not have to make a prior appointment. When viewing our or any other home, there are many aspects of the home you should consider and so in order to assist you we have produced a key point checklist of useful questions which can be downloaded and used as an assessment tool when viewing any home.

When I have found a home I like:
One of the most important tasks in choosing a care home is making the choice once you have viewed your preferred choices. This may not be an instant decision and it is important that all your questions have been answered. If need be, re- visit the home taking other family and friends along who may be able to assist in the decision process. We also strongly advise that the potential resident visits the home at least once if this is possible and this option is always offered at our homes.
