How to choose a home

Where to start:
Word – of – mouth is one of the most powerful ways of learning about a care home. When you are deciding on which home to view, first ask friends, district nurses, GP’s and the Social Services for recommendations.
You can also obtain a copy of the Care Directory from Social Services that lists all care homes in the area and their registration category. Also Inspection Reports are available to view and download from the Regulatory Body who inspects care facilities The Commission for Social Care Inspection. You can obtain a copy of any homes inspection report by visiting www.csci.org.uk
